San Francisco & Los Angeles, California - 18th State Visit of the United States of America

San Francisco , my visit to 18th State of the United States of America was one of the most important ones and had an extraordinary impact than other state visits, be it personal, official or diplomatic. SF in California was into my bucket list for a long time for various reasons. But never had an option to visit due to my complicated and congested schedules. After becoming Student, I had a surplus of time to explore cities. I had a Public Policy Conference at San Francisco and wanted to use my weekend exploring the city. Luckily, I had a college alumnus and friend who was very welcoming me to San Francisco for a long time, and we were in the same wavelength. Planned the Conference and a short trip around SF and other areas. Since a long time, he is definitely a well-organised trip planner, and I requested him to make it out for my visit, which was admitted immediately by him. And, I was pretty confident that while roaming with him, I can have surplus Indian cuisine or other safe ...

VISA on Arrival for Indians at Dubai, UAE

Image
Indian passport holders with a valid American visa or a Green Card will now be eligible to obtain a UAE visa on arrival, as per the decree approved by the UAE Cabinet. The decision to have a simplified visa process is aimed at advancing the UAE-India relations in economic, politics, and trade. It also contributes to achieving UAE’s vision to be the leading country in attracting global tourism. The visa will be valid for 14 days, with a single extension possible for a fee. “Citizens of the Republic of India who are holders of normal passports with a six-month, or more, valid green card or visa issued by the United States of America shall be granted entry visas to the UAE from all ports for a period of 14 days, subject for a single renewal for the same period upon payment of applicable fees,” an official statement said. Lots of queries were present in connection with this. Thought of writing this post to transfer the experience gained in obtaining the VISA. I travelled to Dubai, United A...

New H1B Bill - USA Entry Game

Image
Recent days, I am quite engaged with various activities around the world and the time allocated is thinning day by day! The recent H1B Bill “High-Skilled Integrity and Fairness Act of 2017“ introduced in the house by Rep. Zoe Lofgren, have been blown out of proportion and creating confusion and anxiety in many current and prospective H1B visa holders. Due to the same timing of both of the executive order and H1B bill news, they are combined and facts are misinterpreted by many news agencies, which is the sole reason for the confusion. We will try to articulate the reality to clear all the confusions. First, let’s look at both of the news separately. If you have not read, first read Leaked Executive Order on H1B, L1 Visa by Trump. Now, Let’s look at the other news. Below is the summary of the H1B 130K Bill. Short Summary of the H1B Bill 130K – High-Skilled Integrity and Fairness Act of 2017 Immigrant Visas ( Green Cards ): Eliminate the per country cap for employment-based immigrant v...

Identification of being Emotionally Attached vs Love

Love is one of those things that almost every person on this planet is searching for. Some may get it where most may not get it. And the most important is getting a true love or companionship has been distinct. Some of us want it so badly that we get swept up in the initial stages of romance, blinded by feelings of lust, affection, and desire. There's no better feeling in this world than finding a person who loves you just as much as you love them. But, sometimes we idealise people, rather than letting them just be themselves. And this is because we're searching for our own validation, rather than a genuine, loving bond. Sometimes what we think is love is really just an emotional dependence that we've come to rely on for our own satisfaction and self-worth. Listed below are few signs that your relationship might not be as healthy for you as you think it is: 1. A large portion of your self-worth is derived from your significant other's approval, affection and attention. ...

3 Years of Policy Making & Strategy Execution Expertise comes to an end

Image
It has been more than 60 days from my last post, I was thinking to write about various things, but the transition from one position to another is always the complicated one as everyone is aware of. And that too imagine an execution level people transitioning in the Governmental or Non-Governmental is really such painful and a time-consuming one. And the title of the post almost quotes the end point of my cycle at the high-level office. It doesn't mean that I am empty headed now, instead, the platform where I was shining now changes to an another platform. Yes, I am now successfully a free bird, without spy (hope so...) and can move independently after almost 3 years. Do never visualise about being into the Prisons which is being provided by Government; instead was serving the Government. This 3 year is the best period of my life, I could say in a nutshell. The high-level contacts which range to many Solons, Great Reseach Scientists and Professors across the world. But I have to lit...

Seasoning MBA Application @ US – Part 4 – Employability and Finance Post MBA

Image
MBA is a life changing option, I learnt in the due course of time. Yes, entering into the part 4, the last part of my Admissions Race. I have now got admitted into a top B-School though I am not sure if I will accept that offer. It is a very big investment for a normal person from Asia or other developing countries where the average salary is less than 2000 USD per month. Good Schools will get you good offers, average schools get you average offers. Reading back to the Season 1, you need to choose the group where you will be able to suit up. If your primary goal is all about getting an offer letter from a top company like Deloitte or BCG or others then the move should be very cautious. Yes, getting placed is more important because your mindset is too poor to get only an offer letter after MBA. If you consider taking up a risk of being an entrepreneur I would have rather appreciated your move and there is a value for your MBA and the alumni base. Most of the MBA Grads will get at least ...

Seasoning MBA Applications – Part 3 – Evaluation

Image
My Part 2 of Seasoning MBA Applications begun with BIG THANKS and now my Part 3 of Seasoning MBA Applications beings with an Extra Large THANKS and apologies for the delay. This is a 4 part experience based information guide. The following are the 4 parts: Seasoning MBA Applications – Part 1 – Basics Seasoning MBA Applications – Part 2 – What they need? Seasoning MBA Applications – Part 3 – How they evaluate? Seasoning MBA Applications – Part 4 – Employability and Finance Post MBA I will describe the reason for the delay in the later part of my post. Evaluation is the most critical part of one's MBA application and one's judgment. You read it right, Individual Applicant's Application and Judgement of the Admissions Office(r) . I tried to attempt a DDoS ( :P ) in each and every location where I applied for or my bro applied for. Most of the schools use the rubric as the key methodology. A stern analysis was done when the admissions officer gave her decision over th...
