Hypermobility – Sick & Sad darker side of a Traveler

When people meet me, they ask me this redundant question about travel and most of them express their jealousness on hearing my hypermobility. Elite forms of movement, such as for business, holidays or diplomatic journeys, are largely shown in a positive light in contemporary societies. Although there is unevenness in the portrayal of corporeal mobilities with growing fear over epidemiological threats facilitated through global mobility, negative representations of flight from poverty and persecution and the problematizing of irregular migration, mobility for business and pleasure is typically glamorized and encouraged in more privileged societies. The glamorization of elite mobility is part of broader processes of global capitalist consumption within conditions of neoliberalism, wherein circulation and accumulation within networks are unevenly experienced and materialized. Social capital is increasingly based on one’s power to be mobile and cultivate global networks which are usually...

Characteristics of a Drunk / IP

Disclaimer: I am a non-drinker! Drinking alcohol with close ones is more important for the self-evaluation. Without addiction, a normal occasional drinking is perfectly fine. Even during those times, it is recommended for a perfect brand without adulteration. I thought of writing all my experiences of being with Drunk and Intoxicated and Intimate Persons. In the United Kingdom and the United States, we use to address them as VIP on first vision. VIP claims to the abbreviation of identification of Visually Intoxicated Person. Here are few of the Characteristics: Read More at: https://blog.kokulakrishnaharik.in/2018/11/characteristics-of-a-drunk-ip/

Bromance over Romance - Privileging the Bromance - A study & Examples

Image
Young men get more emotional satisfaction out of “bromances”—close, heterosexual friendships with other males—than they do out of romantic relationships with women, according to a small new  study published in  Men and Masculinities . This study along with a few examples in the reality exemplifies that men need more bromance than romance. Bromances can be important to heterosexual men, and can, in fact, be even more valued than romances. We all have one or two close friendships with whom we share more intimate things without borders and this article is all about it. This article only for men, so girls don't! Just like "Blood is thicker than Water", similar it is "Bromance is stronger than Romance". I have written a few answers in Quora earlier about how the loss of a friend in life affects your performance. We may have many friends, but a "Bro" could be one or two. Calling / Addressing you as "Bro" doesn't mean unless I feel the term with...

Shouldering a Girl for Half-a-Journey to the United Kingdom

Image
Every Journey in my life counts and my very recent Journey to the United Kingdom was really more impressive and soul-satisfying. Stop Judging me with the above statement. This is my 100th post and if you didn't get me till now, a hard regret for your understanding ability. After a very long-time in-service, I happened to fly in Jet Airways from New Delhi, India to London, United Kingdom. It was a quite long travel for around 9 hours and 10 minutes. Since it was my own money, I flew in Economy Class and got my preferred seat. I got a window seat on the 38th row. A descriptive is shown in the below image, but not the actual seatmap. With last few passengers left behind boarding the aircraft, I arrived at the gate and boarded the aircraft. Was really happy to see that my next seat is empty and frequent travellers can surely feel its pleasure. OMG! The pleasure didn't last long. A mid 20's girl was searching for her seat with a small handbag. She arrived near my seat and claime...

VISA on Arrival for Indians at Dubai, UAE

Image
Indian passport holders with a valid American visa or a Green Card will now be eligible to obtain a UAE visa on arrival, as per the decree approved by the UAE Cabinet. The decision to have a simplified visa process is aimed at advancing the UAE-India relations in economic, politics, and trade. It also contributes to achieving UAE’s vision to be the leading country in attracting global tourism. The visa will be valid for 14 days, with a single extension possible for a fee. “Citizens of the Republic of India who are holders of normal passports with a six-month, or more, valid green card or visa issued by the United States of America shall be granted entry visas to the UAE from all ports for a period of 14 days, subject for a single renewal for the same period upon payment of applicable fees,” an official statement said. Lots of queries were present in connection with this. Thought of writing this post to transfer the experience gained in obtaining the VISA. I travelled to Dubai, United A...

Pondicherry - Get Drunk with right Person

Image
[caption id="attachment_387" align="aligncenter" width="1920"] Gandhi Status at Pondicherry Beach[/caption]   Ah, the title maybe slightly grumpy, but it is quite a big reality. Pondicherry (Puducherry) is a Union Territory located near Chennai. Today even most of the kids when we say this name, it turns them magical to enjoy the peaceful, ambient and serene beach environment. Not only limited to this, Pondicherry was a French Colony and you could smell the french fragrances each and every corner of the city. Alongside it is also famous for the Alcohol especially the Port Wine which comes in a wrapper has its own pulling power. For people like me, who don't even drink also this Wine pulls with its sweetness and low alcohol rate. Apart from this wine, there are many brands and types of Alcohol which are comparatively cheaper in Pondicherry putting the list against Chennai, Tamil Nadu or Bengaluru, Karnataka. The weekends are fully invaded by the Touris...

Smart Intellectual Kid - A new Perspective Dimension

Image
While I was engaged with one of the World's Toughest man for a program and I just begun my last travel with him for that specific visit. It was almost 3 days I had been with him day and night. Quite reserved in the conversations, but am being an ambivert, I started the conversation and it went on well than what I actually imagined about. Moving something personal, that gentleman said, "KK, you aren't having any Good Friends or a Girl Friend both in present and past right?". I was stilled for a minute, and replied him "Yes Sir, you 're right!" The conversation went on and the specific points which impressed me are quoted below: Smart Intellectual Kids like you  Will Never have a Best Friend  Will Never have a Girl Friend Will find it very difficult in finding a Wife Will find it very difficult in managing the Wife He advised me to write this in my diary and you will never ever regret wasting few minutes in recording the above 4 statement anytime f...

Identification of being Emotionally Attached vs Love

Love is one of those things that almost every person on this planet is searching for. Some may get it where most may not get it. And the most important is getting a true love or companionship has been distinct. Some of us want it so badly that we get swept up in the initial stages of romance, blinded by feelings of lust, affection, and desire. There's no better feeling in this world than finding a person who loves you just as much as you love them. But, sometimes we idealise people, rather than letting them just be themselves. And this is because we're searching for our own validation, rather than a genuine, loving bond. Sometimes what we think is love is really just an emotional dependence that we've come to rely on for our own satisfaction and self-worth. Listed below are few signs that your relationship might not be as healthy for you as you think it is: 1. A large portion of your self-worth is derived from your significant other's approval, affection and attention. ...

Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej a Wonderful Journey

Image
Some of you may have heard about the most tragic news in our lifetime for all Thai people, the death of our beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away yesterday at the age of 89 and during the 70th year of his reign. Then, you may notice that not only all your Thai friends have changed their FB profile pictures and covers all into black to mourn our beloved King but you may notice also through several news sources about the nation's deepest grieve. Not a single face without tears. Not a single word well enough to express the sorrow. The whole nation has once again united as one to share a moment of the darkest hours in our history, losing the heart of the nation who we love unconditionally and wholeheartedly. For those who are not familiar with the strong bond between Thai people and the royal family, especially King Bhumibol, you may not understand why Thais are so much in deep sorrow when the King passed away. Let me proudly and humbly share with you some of his stories I kn...

Conversation with future Spouse – Part 3/28 – Appearances / Looks

Always ageing is a factor which appears on the skin leaving a strong traces of love and affection which one possessed during the span. So, this is more important. Are there cosmetic procedures that you regularly undergo? Do you feel that you can have good chemistry with someone who is moderately physically attractive to you, or is a strong physical attraction necessary? Do you have strong preferences about being with a particular physical type? Do you worry about getting old? Do you worry about losing your looks? Has physical appearance or chemistry ever been a factor in the breakup of a relationship? How important is it that you always look your best? How important is your spouse's appearance? How much money do you spend on clothing every year? Is weight control important to you? Is your spouse's weight important to you? What do you like and dislike about your appearance? What would your reaction be if your partner were to gain a significant amount of...

Seasoning MBA Application @ US – Part 4 – Employability and Finance Post MBA

Image
MBA is a life changing option, I learnt in the due course of time. Yes, entering into the part 4, the last part of my Admissions Race. I have now got admitted into a top B-School though I am not sure if I will accept that offer. It is a very big investment for a normal person from Asia or other developing countries where the average salary is less than 2000 USD per month. Good Schools will get you good offers, average schools get you average offers. Reading back to the Season 1, you need to choose the group where you will be able to suit up. If your primary goal is all about getting an offer letter from a top company like Deloitte or BCG or others then the move should be very cautious. Yes, getting placed is more important because your mindset is too poor to get only an offer letter after MBA. If you consider taking up a risk of being an entrepreneur I would have rather appreciated your move and there is a value for your MBA and the alumni base. Most of the MBA Grads ...

Japan – Expensive Punctual Lifestyle

It is always a pleasure in exploring various countries and that too in an entertainment mode or mood. In that list, I wanted to explore the Japan. After making a steady plan,  I made myself to visit Tokyo for few days draining Indian Economy and boosting the Japanese Economy . And I did it almost. Born and being brought-up in India is always a curse because you don’t the value of Time and Life. But the Japanese culture does it. As soon as I landed-up, there was a shuttle bus which takes me to The Narita Port Hotel which is actually renamed as Narita Gateway hotel. I didn’t update my time in my hand phone, but to my surprize it was there exactly ON-TIME. Generally, in India we used to be ON-TIME by mistake. When we arrive ON-TIME, you will not have the right respect and mileage. But it is just opposite in Japanese culture. Wasn’t that much satisfied with the Hotel Accommodation as it was exactly the size of our Kitchen in my house. But it was compact and tight fit for an indiv...

"You have a Baby Boy" - Touching Accident Incident

Happening of accident in India has become too usual and common stuff. To coin in a different version, "It is as usual as charging a mobile phone". But only when it happens in our family or our associate, the pain comes up bulged. After having a long trip to Thiruchengode, Coimbatore, Salem I was driving my car back to home all alone since the driver was given with some leave. And I love driving the car all alone or with highly confidante of mine. Whenever I have such an option, I never miss it. And while driving alone or with driver I never stand on the accidents after the 2007 issue of helping an International Person on this affair. But all of a sudden yesterday while returning, crossing Villupuram (a locality in Tamil Nadu, India) late night saw some watery substance in the road and slowed my vehicle. At the dark after turning my car lamps from high to low beam, found two people on the road. As the blood was not clotted in the road, I learnt that the accident could h...

People Expect Big Always

Image
The people in the world including me expect everything to happen in a BIGGER manner and beyond the expectations. Yet still, even after achieving it we aren’t happy. This is a clear defined psychological disorder in my perspective. In India, initially there was a guy who was drawing USD 100 a month; he expected to add a “0” at the last of the salary figure. He worked too hard and added as he wished. Now, he was drawing USD 1000 a month; he wanted to double his salary value. Yes, he achieved in doing it. Now comes the tax issue, so he started all the tax saving process. To have his sustainable income, he wanted to earn some more, this continued until he reached the monthly salary USD 7500 at different actions. And his will came live, he got a good position into the society and unable to move with the society for his personal pleasures. Though he had a big bank balance, he wasn’t able to eat peacefully as he had a huge stress issues. What was the final outcome of earning such?...

Crush with Air-Hostess

This is a very common feel which will be experienced by each and every first time airline flyer. The person who says "Welcome, can I help you?" is a very big crush which they feel in their lifetime. Yes, today I happened to watch Bangalore Days with my colleagues. As similiar to Nivin Pauly, even I have experienced the same feel. Though my first flying experience was when I was too young, I didn't feel it and this become used. But eventhen, there was a chase for me :D :P This happened two years ago when I traveled from Hong Kong to some unknown destination (Forgot It :-( ), there was a air-hostess in Dragon Air whose name was "Vicky". She was trying to learn my name and I was explaining her that her name was sounding like a male name. Almost spent around 2 hours. Most of them who are flying with me have a crush with minimum atleast 1 or 2 Air Hostess. Though they aren't aware that Air hostess will not travel with everyone, but still they develop the crush an...

Bangkok - How I got arrested and released in minutes?

Bangkok, the divine place for the bachelors and even some of the married persons. I frequently visit the place for various purposes like my office and transit to other countries. Even-though people sometimes who aren't aware of my position initially think with a glitch about my frequent visit to Bangkok, later realize how important my position is and how it is being monitored every minute by minute. But those are apart as I never bother about them and I am committed for my self-control move not only at Bangkok, instead across the Globe. Recently, as usual I was there to Bangkok. Generally, I use to have a team of people who work in my office assisting various moves at the Hotel where I stay as well as in my office. It was a early morning and I had a very bad hard decision making stuffs the previous night so wasn't able to sleep, I was thinking about it. Since, I was jobless, I went too early for the breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning, it was literally untimely for my BF (Br...

Indeterminable Reserve Bank of India (RBI) – Part 2 of 2

In the continuation to the previous post portraying the ill effects of the Reserve Bank of India, here flows the second and final post. Already got many calls from top notch people for writing about RBI and will ensure that there are no bad remarks. Over 5 ATM Transactions Chargeable You would have heard this statements if you live in the metro cities. Yes, there has been an amendment with the Code of Banking Conducts to charge a customer who overuses ATM Facilities in-order to limit the crowd in ATMs. Again this is not a wise decision amended by RBI. For example, if I need INR 5000 for 10 days, I may walk into the ATM for withdrawal as per my requirement. Now, since there is a restriction, I may withdraw INR 5000 all in one time. Working on the actual case, I may need INR 100, INR 100, INR 2000 and so on for 10 days. Here the bank fails to have the customer's EoD Balance. The customer may withdraw even a huge amount. Another trait is that as we may be aware that the thefts these d...
